James D. Renwick, age 70, of Monmouth, Illinois, passed away at 3:55 PM on Sunday, March 3, 2024 at his residence. He was born April 24, 1953 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Dale and Lena (Tatman) Renwick. On August 1, 2013 he married Cindy Talbott in Monmouth, Illinois and she is surviving. Jim was previously married to Carolyn Sickles. 

Jim had worked at Burlington Northern Railroad, Adkinson Construction building grain bins, P.L. Smitt Company as a sandblaster and painter, Husky Bilt constructing farm buildings, and Sheerer’s Bakery. Jim enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and riding his bike. Mostly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Jim is survived by his wife Cindy of Monmouth, IL, two daughters, Tammy (Len) Brentise of Monmouth, IL and Donna (Jake) Gorman of Kirkwood, IL, his grandchildren, Thomas (Amanda) Brentise, Natasha Brentise, Christopher (Lauren) Brentise, Bradley Brentise, Brent Stanley, and Amelia Stanley, and one sister Madge Renwick of Galesburg, IL. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Austin Melvin, Alena Brentise, Shelby Brentise, Rylee Brentise, Brooklynn Richardson, Conner Brentise, Cameron Renwick, Isabella Brentise, Elaney Renwick, and Feniex Brentise, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Dakota Renwick, his brother, Edward Renwick, and two great-grandchildren Delaney Cameron and one still-born infant.

As were Jim’s wishes, no services are planned. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park. A memorial is being established to assist his family with final expenses. A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held at a later date and information will be announced shortly.
