Lyle Koller, 74, of Galesburg, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Lyle was born on October 25, 1949 in Avon, Illinois. He was the son of Ray and Betty (Clayberg) Koller. Surviving Lyle are his daughter, Kimberly (Joe) Groeper of Dahinda; a brother Dennis and Beverly Koller of Springfield; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and his grand puppy. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Verl.

Lyle was a 1967 graduate of Bushnell Prairie City High School. He served in the 1st Infantry of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lyle was a truck driver for over 40 years. He spent the last 20 years of his career driving for the Walmart Fleet out of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, where he achieved 1 million miles of safe driving before his retirement in 2015. He was a member of the Galesburg and Harry E. Philbald Post #749 American Legions. He also achieved his Eagle Scout in 1965. Most of all, Lyle enjoyed spending time on his motorcycle and with his friends and family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Linwood Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow graveside services starting at 12:00 PM at the Harry E. Philbald American Legion Post #749, Knoxville, Illinois. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Harry E. Philbald American Legion Post #749.
