National Weather Service Confirms EF-1 Tornado Near Avon

The National Weather Service says it was a tornado that touched down last week near Avon. The twister touched down early Thursday morning, and was on the ground for about a mile. Forecasters say the tornado had top wind speeds of up to 110 miles-per-hour. No one was hurt when the tornado touched down, but teams with the Weather Service say there was plenty of damage at two farms. That includes a couple of destroyed buildings, grain bins, and a number of uprooted trees and snapped power poles.
