Two Galesburg Men Arrested on Federal Drug Indictments

Knox County Sheriff Jack C. Harlan, Jr. announces the federal indictments of two subjects over the course of a longstanding investigation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Galesburg PD, FBI TOC West, and FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

On March 19, 2024, Michael A. Villarreal, 49, of Galesburg, IL and Casey D. McGee, 53, of Galesburg, IL were indicted in the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois in Peoria for the distribution of Methamphetamine throughout Knox County and surrounding areas.

The federal investigation has been ongoing for the last year and has covered most of Knox County. During the course of the investigation Law Enforcement have seized over 5 pounds of methamphetamine, multiple firearms, and 4 pounds of cannabis. During the course of the investigation the Investigators learned that approximately 2 to 5 pounds of methamphetamine a month was being distributed throughout Knox County and surrounding areas.

The following subjects have been arrested and Indicted:

Michael A. Villarreal, 49, of Galesburg, IL. Charged with: 2 Counts Distribution of Methamphetamine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.

Casey D. McGee, 53, of Galesburg, IL. Charged with: Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of Drug Trafficking, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the FBI TOC West, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Galesburg Police Department, and the Quad Cities United States Attorney Office

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
