Constance “Connie” Scanlon Patterson, 82, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.

Connie was born December 10, 1941 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Ed and Pauline (Young) Patterson.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1959.

Connie married Christopher P. Scanlon in Burlington, IA in 1985.

Connie was a proud homemaker.  She also worked at Admiral’s in Galesburg.

She was a member of St. James AME, Monmouth.

She enjoyed good music, video games, cooking and reading her bible.

Survivors include her children, Pierrie T. Patterson of Galesburg, Tyler T. Patterson of Rantoul, IL, Djuana K. Lucas of Peoria, IL, Shala J. Lucas of Springfield, MO, Lonnie D. (Michelle Adkisson-Brown) Brown of Galesburg and Kendra P. Patterson of Galesburg; 22 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren, including Dontavius D. Purnell; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (Molly) Patterson of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Sharon Patterson and Carole Randolph both of Monmouth; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Mischa P. Patterson and her son, Jerry Bernard Lucas Jr.; 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to the Connie Scanlon Patterson Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
