The Warren-Henderson Farm Bureau® Foundation is proud to announce this year’s scholarship recipients. Due to the generosity of the Twomey Family Foundation, memorials in honor of loved ones, support from our members and area businesses, and fundraising efforts, the Foundation can assist nineteen applicants this year in furthering their education in agriculture. Each of this year’s recipients will receive a total of $1,300 for the 2024-25 academic year.
The Foundation started awarding scholarships in 1994 and since that time has awarded 412 scholarships and almost $350,000 to students continuing their education in an agricultural field of study.
Meet one of this year’s recipients: Breck McVey
Breck McVey attends the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is majoring in Animal Science. In her spare time, Breck enjoys playing tennis with her friends, spending time with any of her 15 pets, helping her mother by volunteering at events she puts on where she works, teaching swim lessons, and cooking with her family. Breck’s future plans include contributing to ethical animal practices while pushing boundaries of agricultural advancements. Breck is the daughter of Eric and Cecilia McVey of Oquawka.
