It’s FAFSA time for high school seniors that will be heading off to college next fall and for those already enrolled at higher institutions. Associate Vice President of Student Financial Planning at Monmouth College, Jayne Schreck, reports the college has already received 600 FAFSA applications:
“The FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and it is the most universally used form to apply for financial aid. Some schools will have and additional institutional application, Monmouth does not. The FAFSA provides us everything that we need. It opened up just before December and we are starting to get those FAFSA results from families. We have over 600 FAFSA applications right now on our campus. Right after the first of the year we will start cranking out financial aid offers to families so that they can use and determine what it is going to cost to attend Monmouth and how affordable it is so they can join us.”
Schreck advises submitting those FAFSA applications prior to March 1st as funds are on a first come, first serve basis.
