Macomb Man Arrested for Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Materials

 Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 4 arrested 43-year-old Christopher Michael Metcalf from Macomb, IL, for Possession of Child Pornography (Class 2 Felony).

In October 2024, West Central Illinois Task Force initiated an investigation after learning a subject in the 200 block of N. Sherman Avenue in Macomb, IL, was disseminating child sexual abuse material through an online platform.  On November 26, 2024 a search warrant was executed in the 200 block of N. Sherman Avenue and evidence of child sexual abuse material was discovered in Metcalf’s possession.  Metcalf was arrested and is detained at the McDonough County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.  

On November 27, 2024, the McDonough County State’s Attorney Office filed a three-count information charging Metcalf with Possession of Child Pornography.

West Central Illinois Task Force was assisted by the Macomb Police Department, McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Digital Forensic Examiners with this investigation.  Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact ISP Zone 4 Investigations at (309) 837-5840.

The charges are not evidence against the defendant, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
