Monmouth-Roseville Titan Boys Basketball Searching for Consistency

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys basketball team finished the first half of the season at (9-7). The Titans ran off five straight wins in the middle of the first half but have been searching for more consistency, quarter to quarter and game to game. That was evident during their (1-2) appearance at the Macomb/Western Holiday Tournament. Monmouth-Roseville was dominant in an opening round win over Liberty, but followed that up with losses to solid Peoria Christian and Illini West ballclubs. In the losses, the Titans played four quality quarters of basketball but could not put them together consecutively. Developing consistency is what’s on the mind of head coach Chuck Grant for the second half of the season.

The Titans will have to find consistency quick starting the second half of the season. In the days after their Sandburg Shootout game against Stanford Olympia on Saturday, Monmouth-Roseville will face Western Big Six Conference United Township on the road on Tuesday, followed by TRAC West Division title contenders….Sherrard at home and Rockridge on the road. The gauntlet will end with a home game against Riverdale and a road game at Macomb. The combined records of those five teams are (56-14).
