As part of a collaboration with Carl Sandburg College, Career Exploration opportunities are available for local teens on the first Monday of the month at the Recharge Teen Center, reports Assistant Coordinator Jessica Ferguson:

“We partner with Carl Sandburg College to do a Career Exploration program. So, they come once a month, the first Monday of each month typically and they just schedule a different professional that comes in from 6 to 7 pm, so that hour after we close. Anyone who is interested can stay a little bit longer. Our most recent one was Trevor Davies of McGuire and Davies Funeral Home. It is just really cool to see the kids who know that is an interest and come in ready to ask questions they hadn’t got answers to yet, or some who came and didn’t realize it is more than just a service. We have also had Information Technology and nursing; it just varies.”

The Recharge Teen Center will operate during their summer hours of noon to 6 pm through August 19th, then will switch to after school hours of 3 to 6 pm.
