CASA of West Central Illinois is the Court Appointed Special Advocate program that speaks up for and supports children in the court system. With six employees and thirty-five current volunteers, Executive Director Kelly Price informs they have recently received a grant to expand their service territory:
“Three weeks ago, we were serving Knox, Warren, Henderson, and McDonough. We just added on Fulton County. We are very excited. They did not have a CASA program before. We received a grant from DCFS through Illinois CASA and DCFS is helping CASA expand to hopefully all the counties in Illinois soon. So, we were able to take over Fulton County. That added 110 kids to our roster. In our five counties, there is 450 kids in foster care right now, so there are quite a few that need an advocate.”
