Here’s our first WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the winter sports season. This is for the week ending November 23rd, 2025:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Lilly Mahoney. Lilly has already stepped up her game in the first week of the season. She averaged a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in her team’s four games of the ROWVA/Williamsfield-Ridgewood Thanksgiving Tournament. Lilly also posted another team high of over 3 steals a game.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is freshman girls basketball player, Ada Kunkle. In just her first week of varsity basketball, Ada has exploded onto the scene. She averaged 12 points and nearly five rebounds a game in the Red Storm’s 5th place finish at the ROWVA/Williamsfield Thanksgiving Tournament. Ada’s performance got her named to the All-Tournament Team.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman boys bowler, Chance Lundeen. Chance was the top-finishing Heat bowler at the Rockford Guilford Boys Survivor Tournament. He rolled a 4-game score of 679, which was good enough for 73rd place out of 127 total bowlers. Chance’s single game score of 222 was good enough for 45th place in the tournament.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Jozalyn Kilgore. Through the first four games of the season, Jozalyn has led the Streaks in points per game, at just over 13 points. She’s averaging almost as many rebounds a game at 12.5. In addition to leading the team in both of those stat categories, Jozalyn is tied for second on the club in assists, as well.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior boys bowler, Spencer Shaw. Spencer was the highest scoring bowler for A-Town at the Rockford Guilford Survivor Tournament. He shot a 4-game score of 693, which was good enough to place him 70th out of 127 total bowlers. Spencer’s highest single game score of 202 was the 74th highest of the day.
