Following the completion of classes 1A through 4A football state championship games on Friday, the 5A through 8A championship games that were scheduled for Saturday, were postponed due to an early season severe snow storm.

In a statement from the IHSA in the late evening on Friday night, Classes 5A and 6A title games were rescheduled for Tuesday in Normal, Illinois on the campus of Illinois State University. The 5A game will kickoff at 3:00, followed by the 6A game at 6:00.

The 7A and 8A championship games will be played in Dekalb on the campus of Northern Illinois University on Wednesday with the same time schedule as Tuesday.

IHSA Executive Director Craig Anderson said in a statement, “Illinois State was committed to hosting all eight state championship games if possible, but could not host the 7A and 8A title games until Thursday due to a scheduling conflict on Wednesday. We did not want to further impact the schedules and routines of our competing teams, so NIU’s willingness to step up, especially given the geography of the competing teams, made this an easy decision.”
