The Monmouth College and Knox College Prairie Fire men’s basketball rivalry has been a lopsided one, much like the football rivalry. With the Scots win over Knox last Saturday, the all-time series now sits at 139-93 in favor of Monmouth. Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva says this victory gives the Scots’ senior class a chance to accomplish something that has not happened since the 1950s.
Coach Todd Skrivseth now holds a 21-6 record against Knox and this year’s seniors will have a chance to complete a four-year sweep in February with a home game win against the Prairie Fire. The Scots will return to Midwest Conference play this Saturday when they host Lawrence. Tip-off of the men’s game is scheduled for 1:00, with the women’s game following at around 3:00.
