The Introduction Tour of the new County voting equipment has its first stop on January 6, 2026 at the Abingdon Community Center, 801 West Martin Street in Abingdon, from 5:00 PM until 8:00PM. This tour will allow Voters to see the new equipment and ask questions before Election Day. “The goal is to have a smooth transition from our old equipment to the next generation voting equipment.” stated Scott Erickson, Knox County Clerk & Recorder. “Voter confidence with the new voting system will hopefully help remove any concerns that Voters may hear about in the media. Our ultimate mission is safe and secure Elections and this is a big step towards keeping this mission moving forward!” The County Clerk’s Office will be at various locations in Knox County all month. Residents that live outside the City of Galesburg are welcome to attend any of these tour locations and see the equipment for themselves.

The rest of this week’s schedule will include January 7, 2026 at Rio Township Hall, and in Knoxville at Big Catz Community Room on January 8, 2026. Times will be the 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for all dates and locations. If anyone has any questions, they are welcome to contact the County Clerk’s office by phone at 309-345-3815 or by email at elections@knoxcountyil.gov. We will be happy to answer any questions that we can.
