Following the completion of construction on West Harlem Avenue, Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe shares what is to come for the City of Monmouth in 2026 for capital projects:

“The next thing we need to work into our capital projects are road repairs as funding allows, as grants allow, but also, we don’t want to forget of looking forward to work on our Main Street. We have phase two of this Street Revitalization coming up and that could possibly start this year. Part of that work if going to be working on the underground. We have some water main that is aged underneath these sections of streets and the city really does not want to replace the road above without repairing the infrastructure underneath. We could see work this year on all that, starting with of course the underground work.”

Bledsoe reports planning is underway for the underground work of phase two of the Downtown Streetscape Revitalization and engineers are currently working on the design of the roadway portion.
