Everyone knows James Hawk from Hawk’s Tattoos, but many people may not know that Hawk also works with Central Illinois ABATE, the second-largest grassroots lobbying organization in Illinois.

Hawk says he is currently helping organize the annual ABATE Bash, which will take place later this summer.

“This year we’re hosting the 44th annual ABATE Bash at the Knox County Fairgrounds in Knoxville, Illinois. That will be August 28, 29, and 30. We’re going to celebrate with bands, a rib cook-off with Smithfield Foods supplying the ribs, and Illinois’ longest-running motorcycle rodeo and bike show. That motorcycle rodeo is the best in the nation.”

Hawk says the event is open to the public and will include family-friendly activities, vendors, and fundraising efforts that support community organizations and motorcycle safety advocacy.
