Two new firefighters have been sworn in by the Monmouth City Council to join the Fire Department, informs Director of Operations Ken Helms:
“First was Donnivan Reed and second was Ben Ketchum. They are both from the local region. Right now, they are actually doing shift work, riding along, and getting to know the lay of the land, the way the operations work. Then they will go to the Fire Academy, where they will get basic training, hazmat training, and some vehicular operations training as well. Then they will come back and join a shift full-time.”
Monmouth Mayor Rod Davies says the hiring of Firefighter Reed and Firefighter Ketchum put the Monmouth Fire Department at full staffing with retirees anticipated in the future.
