Students in the Monmouth-Roseville School District have been a part of two fundraising events supporting local Special Olympics athletes and the American Heart Association, reports Superintendent Ed Fletcher:
“Our Monmouth-Roseville Titan Polar Plunge Team has raised $6,150 for Titans Special Olympics athletes. They are still accepting donations. The cool thing is that over the last fifteen years, we have raised over $70,000 for Special Olympics, so that is really cool that Mrs. Russell does that,” says Fletcher.
“At Harding Primary School, we had some kids raise some money for the American Heart Association. They raised $1,700. The top two winners were Isaac Sotto and Liam Johnson, so kudos to those two young students for understanding what it is all about to start giving back even at such a young age,” Fletcher adds.
Superintendent Fletcher informs the Board of Education has approved the installation of a drive-thru lane for student drop-offs at Lincoln Early Childhood.
