Red Storm Softball Navigates Weather to Open Season

Share

It may not look like it, but high school softball kicked off their regular season last week.

Not many of our local teams were able to fit in a game between the weather but the United Red Storm were one of the lucky teams. They were able to secure a 15-4 win over Lowpoint-Washburn last Monday.

Since that game the Red Storm have spent most of their time practicing indoors, which can get monotonous for some, but Head Coach Mike Maguire says his squad is staying engaged.

The Red Storm have a very busy upcoming week as they are slated for 4 games in 4 days starting tomorrow.

United will kick off with their home opener tomorrow, which is in jeopardy due to the overnight snow.

The Red Storm will follow that up with a trip to Rushville Industry on Thursday, then back at home for their potential home opener Friday against North Fulton.

Then Finishing up the week with a trip to Macomb on Saturday.
