The Games will feature a variety of competitive events, including golf, pickleball, swimming, bowling, track and field, free throws, table tennis, and disc golf. Events will primarily take place at Hanson Field, the Student Recreation Center, and Brophy Hall on the WIU campus. Bowling and swimming competitions will be held off campus at Digger’s College Bowl and the McDonough County YMCA.

In addition to athletic competition, participants will have the opportunity to attend a Friday evening social and a Saturday morning opening ceremony, designed to foster connection and celebrate active lifestyles among older adults.

The Western Illinois Senior Games aim to promote health, wellness, and friendly competition while strengthening community engagement throughout the region. The event also provides a valuable opportunity for members of the WIU community and alumni to get involved and volunteer. Organizers are currently inviting participants to register and encouraging community members to help spread the word.

The event website, wiu.edu/seniorgames, is now updated with a new logo for the new name. Registration information is available on the website. Additional event details can be found in the downloadable event informational packet.
