473 pre-kindergarten through 4th Grade students attend Hedding Grade School in the Abingdon-Avon School District. As the end of another school year is in sight, 4th Grade Teacher Lindsay Long highlights a fun activity they do in the building to kickoff summer:
“We have our ABC Countdown kicking off, so that means we have 26 days of school left. Mrs. Scherpe has a lot of fun things planned for the kids. We kick it off with A-Town Gear Day, we do popsicle day, every day we do a letter of the alphabet, ending on ‘z’ with zip up the bookbags and kick off summer. We do dance parties on the playground. One of the favorites is Quiz Bowl Day where it is students versus teachers. We do all sorts of fun things to celebrate the end of the year.”
