In recognition of April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, please join the Blue Ribbon Task Force of West Central, IL for the annual Hands Around the Courthouse ceremony at the Monmouth Public Square on April 15th.
This annual gathering honors children whose lives are impacted by abuse and neglect. We gather to pause and reflect, to recognize the courage of children in foster care, and the power of a community that chooses to care.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the Blue-Ribbon Task Force of West Central IL is hosting the Hands Around the Courthouse (H.A.T.C.H) event at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Monmouth Public Square, Monmouth, IL
The H.A.T.C.H event provides an opportunity for awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month while reminding the community how we can help protect the well-being of all children. The Blue-Ribbon Task Force of West Central IL invites ALL community members to attend Hands Around the Courthouse to hear from Jill McClintock, Director of Business Development at Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Health, and Blue-Ribbon Task Force members.
After the brief program, participants will be asked to hold a blue ribbon and form a circle around the Public Square for a moment of silence acknowledging local victims of child abuse and neglect. The entire ceremony is open to the public and lasts about 30 minutes.
