The Monmouth-Roseville High School Music Department won their second straight Class B Overall State Championship and 5th overall in school history on Saturday at the IHSA Organizational Contest. Combined with the Solo and Ensemble points, the Titans scored a record number of 1020 total points. No Class B school has ever scored over 1000 points. Receiving Excellent Ratings for Monmouth-Roseville was the concert band. Receiving Superior Ratings were the symphonic band, jazz band, mixed choir, jazz choir, men’s choir and the madrigal singers. Receiving the Best of the Day Award was the Treble Madrigal Singers. Fellow Three Rivers Athletic Conference member, Kewanee claimed the Class A Overall State Championship, with Macomb in 8th place. The Three Rivers Athletic Conference dominated the Class B standings, as after Monmouth-Roseville, Rockridge was 2nd, Mendota was 3rd, Princeton was 7th, Mercer County was 15th and Sherrard was 17th.
In class C, United High School placed 4th overall with 333 points. Another TRAC-member, Orion, was 19th in Class C.
In Class D, ROWVA was the overall state champion.
