The Abingdon Community Festival is gearing up for another big event this weekend, as Pro Wrestling Epic returns to town this Saturday, April 18.
Pro Wrestling Epic, based out of St. Louis, made an appearance at the festival back in August and is back again, this time bringing an Epic 8 tournament. The winner will earn a future shot at the championship this summer at the Abingdon Community Festival.
Doug Thomas shares what fans can expect Saturday.
“We have a meet and greet at five o’clock where, once you’re in the grounds, you can get your pictures taken with them. I mean, these guys and ladies are awesome. They are really good with the kids. They sell their merch there.
But then once the meet and greet is over, we’re going to be inside. We have a big blow-up movie theater screen that’s going to show highlight clips and also thank all our sponsors.
Then the bell rings at seven, and it’s usually about a two-and-a-half, maybe three-hour show, with a lot of high-intensity action.”
Tickets are $30 and are expected to sell out.
