Warren County Public Transportation, now called Western Community Public Transportation, recently had a record day of over 270 trips. Executive Director Morgan Lewis breaks down the main uses for the service:

“You would think it is mainly for medical, it’s not, that’s maybe one-third to one-fourth of our trips. We have people use it for shopping, they use it to go to social engagements, recreation, to go to the YMCA, and some people use it for the courthouse. We have people use it to go to the bank. With us having four loops a day going to Galesburg, we have a lot of trips a day that go that way. We are an on-demand service, which means we go curb to curb.”

As a thank you of hitting 500 followers on Facebook, Lewis reports Western Community Public Transportation will be offering free transportation on Thursday, April 23rd.
