Titans Walk It Off in 11-10 Thriller

Despite a week of unfavorable weather, the Monmouth-Roseville Titans softball team was able to get one game in, hosting ROWVA/Williamsfield on Tuesday.

Head Coach Jarod Hippen says one area his team continues to grow in, is how they respond in tough innings.

The Titans built an early lead, scoring eight runs through the first four innings to take an 8-3 advantage.

ROWVA/Williamsfield answered in the fifth, putting up four runs to cut the lead to 8-7. Monmouth-Roseville added another run in the sixth to stretch it to 9-7 heading into the final inning.

The Cougars weren’t done, scoring three runs in the top of the seventh to take a 10-9 lead.

But the Titans had one last answer.

Nevaeh Stokes led off the inning with a single, Jazmyn Copeland reached on an error, and Brenna Livingston delivered the big moment, smoking a double to drive in two runs as the Titans walked it off with an 11-10 win.

Monmouth-Roseville improves to 3-2 on the season and is scheduled for several games in the next week, though weather could once again be a factor.
