In response to repeated reports from Monmouth residents and business owners regarding uncollected waste, Mayor Rod Davies informs city officials recently met with the regional and district manager of LRS to voice concerns and expectations moving forward:

“We went over what was going on and they have had an exceptional number of breakdowns and illnesses. We talked about improving redundancy and having better backups and bringing some folks in to manage that. We also requested a dedicated service line. We also mentioned three areas, Lawnway Drive, Industrial Park Drive, and Sunset Road on the other side of the bypass out on Harlem Extended that for some reason their backups get those missed and so we talked about that. They added another person to Monmouth in the service area. We certainly hope that this resonates well and we get some improvement.”

LRS began their contract with the City of Monmouth for weekly solid waste pickup in 2022.
