Jamieson Community Center Reports $25,000 Drop in Upcoming Fiscal Year Funding

Share

Funding allocations for the next Fiscal Year are anticipated to be lower for the Jamieson Community Center following the release of their latest RFP numbers, according to Executive Director Nancy Mowen:

“We just got the RFP for the next Fiscal Year. That is administered by the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging. It includes state and federal funding. Unfortunately, the dollars are down; first time in a long time we have seen a decrease in funds. It is down about $25,000. That puts us at a difficult place because our numbers are up, grant dollars are down, and costs have increased. The increase in gas also affects our food prices. It is going to be a little bit of a balancing act to try and make sure people get served. I am going to look for some additional grant funding.”

Jamieson Community Center’s next Fiscal Year begins October 1st.
