Kirkwood Days Kicks Off Today

Kirkwood Days is kicking off today, with events planned both today and Saturday.

Kirkwood Park District Board Member Kristin Firch shares what’s happening tonight.

“Kirkwood Days is happening this weekend. They will start at 5:30 with the Kirkwood Block Party at the park, where we’ll be having inflatables from 5:30 to 7:30 and a foam blaster party from 7:30 to 8:15. There will be vendors and food. We’ll have Ferris and June shaved ice and County Line Diner out at the park during that time. There will be a shuttle, and fireworks will be hosted over at Tiny Acres, weather permitting.”

Then on Saturday, Kirkwood Days continues with events all around town.

Firch shares the Saturday schedule.

“The Kidpreneur Market will be at the park, and that starts at 10 until noon. There will be other vendors throughout the day there. The Half Tank Fest is over at the fire station, starting with pancakes and sausage from 6 AM to 10. Then we have a 5K run that starts at 8 AM. After that, we’ll do lunch with Big Bucks from 11 to 1. After that, we’ll have a bags tournament and bands, Stone Cold Cowboys from 1 to 4, and then 8 PM to 11 PM we have Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters.”
