As summer approaches, Family Nurse Practitioner at the McDonough District Hospital Bushnell Clinic Kyle Brewer, reminds families to be mindful of common warmer-weather health concerns:

“There are some bugs going around, there always is, but this time of the year we see more sports injuries; aggravations of ankles or knees, people playing sports. We see sunburns, bug bites, but you still have your occasional flu bug going around. The good news, people worry a lot about tick bites, but truly, your risk is pretty low unless that tick has been on for 72 hours or so.”

New patients are currently being accepted at the MDH Bushnell Family Practice, which is open Mondays through Fridays 8 am to 5 pm.
