1870 Holdings Company, which is the parent company of Midwest Bank, is designated as a financial service holding company, which allows them to own financial related businesses to expand products and services. Local Midwest Bank President Aaron Jensen explains the vision and recent expansions:
“We have added a number of businesses. We have an insurance company, we have trust, and wealth management. Beginning in 2024, we acquired an accounting firm. In 2025, we acquired Princeville State Bank and we are excited to announce that in 2026, 1870 Holdings Company has entered into an agreement to purchase Rushville State Bank,” explains Jensen.
“It is a function of two things; number one, expanding the products and services that we offer, but also expanding the number of communities into which we are expanding those services,” Jensen adds.
“Midwest Bank has eight locations in West-Central Illinois and we are excited to announce that we will be expanding into our ninth in Table Grove, Illinois. We are looking to open that location later this summer. That branch will be a full-service branch. We will have all the deposit accounts, we will have ag commercial lending, consumer lending, and mortgage lending. We will also have an ATM there,” says Jensen.
According to Jensen, there are 170 employees across the 1870 Holdings Company with 13 communities being served.
