The City of Monmouth is continuing to prepare for future streetscape work on North Main and South Main Street.

Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe shares the details.

“We’re going to be going out for North Main underneath where the new streetscape will be. We’ll be putting a new water main under there to ensure that all the underground infrastructure is good before we put this nice beautiful road on top. Same thing with the portion of South Main that we’re replacing, we have some sewer line to do underneath there. So that’s kind of the two or three big ones happening now.”

Bledsoe says the city is hoping to complete the underground work this year, with the above-ground streetscape work expected to take around two to three months per side.
