Nathan Jacob Edward Switzer, 19, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 in rural Gerlaw, IL.
He was born in Galesburg, IL, the son of Jake and Tiffany (Bellinger) Switzer. Nathan was raised and educated in Alexis and graduated from United High School in 2025. He was attending Augustana College in Rock Island, where he was studying Pre-Medicine.
Nathan loved being outdoors and going for walks. He enjoyed watching hockey and listening to music and was never picky about the genre. Nathan loved ICP and wanted to get a Hatchet Man tattoo, just like his dad.
He played Roblox more than he liked to admit, but some of his favorite games were Hollow Knight and The Binding of Isaac. He would never tell anyone his favorite animal, but it was obvious that it was his cat, Nessa. Nathan loved eating sushi and drinking Monster, especially the electric blue one. One of his favorite shows was Breaking Bad, and a current favorite was Invincible.
Nathan was very active in esports. He was a member of the esports team at Augustana College, and it was one of his favorite parts of college life
