A new name comes new opportunities and a bigger variety of locations. What used to be Warren County Public Transportation is now Western Community Public Transportation. Their re brand is because of their successful year of serving our community with over 5,000 trips in one month. Morgan Lewis has a very enthusiastic conversation about the re brand, what they do, and the bright future ahead.

“We hit a new record last month, and had over 5,000 trips in one month. One day we had more than 270 trips in day. On July 1st, we are expanding to Henderson, so that means we will not only cover that whole count, an addition to Warren and Mercer, but we will also add the daily loops to Burlington as well. That means more medical care, more shopping, as well as our daily loops to the Quad Cities and to Galesburg, and we’ve also started to branch out to Macomb.”

“We did just re brand, so we are now Western Community Public Transportation. So, what we do is on demand service, which means that when you call us, instead of having stops at here, here, here, we will come right outside to your residence, pick you up and take you to your doctor’s appointment, to the store you want to go shopping at, to the restaurant you want to eat at, and then we you’re done you can call us and we can take you back or take you on to a different location you want to go to. It’s not a taxi service but it’s similar. It makes it very customizable. All of our vehicles are ADA friendly, so we’re willing to work with anyone and get them to where they need to go.”

Western Community Public Transportation has been keeping busy and serving our communities, with travel services, to meet the needs of our local citizens. They are continuing to grow by hitting many other communities, keeping their mission strong.
