Drivers may have noticed construction activity taking place at Lincoln Early Childhood School, where a new drive is being added to improve school traffic and access, explains Monmouth Police Chief Joe Switzer:

“The construction at Lincoln School has started. They took the trees down and they are going to be putting in a “U” shape drive through the grass area in front of Lincoln School to try and alleviate some of the backing up of traffic on South 11th when dropping kids off and picking kids up. Most of those vehicles will be able to get off the roadway into the “U” shape drive. It will be safer for the kids. They won’t have to come out into the street to get into vehicles and the busses now.”

Chief Switzer urges caution when traveling through the area around Lincoln Early Childhood School while construction is in progress.
