Dorothy Ricketts, the Interim CEO and President of the Security Saving’s Bank Leadership Team talk about possible fraud that could happen during their modernization project of their core system.

“Debit cards should work. I always caution people to take an extra form of payment with them because for fraud purposes, you never know when your debit card is going to get locked down. Particularly, this weekend there may be some periods, during the switch over, when the debit card may not work. We don’t anticipate that but there is always that bump in the road, so I always encourage people to have an extra form of payment with them, whether they carry cash or whether they’re carrying a credit card, just in case their debit card doesn’t work.”

“There’s been a middle man into those capture codes and if you don’t type it just right, supposedly it takes you to another site, saying “we can’t except this, you need to provide your identifying information before you can go any further.” So, now you need to be scared of capture codes. Pay attention, look at the URLs where you get taken to if you get directed to another site.”

As Security Savings Bank proceeds through their project on their core system, keep a look out for potential actions of fraud.
