If you haven’t yet decided your lunch or dinner plans on August 7th, The Warren Achievement Center is hosting its “Drive Up for a Cause” Fundraiser at the American Legion in Monmouth from noon to 5 p.m. Cari Novak, CDS Administrator, explains where the proceeds go.

“So Warren Achievement Center works with a population of people that have intellectual and developmental disabilities. This fundraiser is going to help us, at CDS we have a building that can no longer be updated, so we bought the old VFW building over on the north end of town, and we would like to put an addition onto that to get all of our people there. So this fundraiser is really going to help us get all of our people all of the help and support that they need in one fun place.

Their Community Day Services serves 58 individuals with programming that supports individuals who may need assistance with independence and integration in our community, offering personalized programs that assist with services such as: Life Skills, Nutrition, Exercise and Fitness, Social Interaction and Arts and Crafts.

You can purchase an $8 Ticket for a pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, a cookie, and a bottle of water. They’ll be available for purchase at their corporate office or at the Monmouth Cruise night on July 31st. For any comments or questions, feel free to contact Tamra Bickerton, their director of HR.
