Did you know that you can sign up to get notifications, through messages, about major events happening in Monmouth? Ken Helms, Operations Director for the City of Monmouth, talks more about the process of receiving notifications and what’s to come for the city.

“We also have a sign down by the police department, for anyone who drives by. It’s got a phone number on it that you can text and sign up for our text alerts. So, these text alerts are a little bit different. If say we had a water main break in a part of town, and we’re going to be issuing limited boil order, which that’s something that has happened in the past. That actually kind of spurred us getting on some new services. Then, you would sign up for it and you would get a text message that says, “the southeast part of town is under a boil order.” So, that’s one of the common things that we really like to reach out to people, or if we’re having a large community event. Matter of fact, the public meeting for the expansions of the 200th Block of South Main and the 200th Block of North Main. We’re going to be doing a little bit of beautification of it; putting in angle parking so we can increase capacity, and different green scape stuff. Just continuing what we did with the town square.”

If you would like to receive those messages and stay informed with the City of Monmouth, text JOIN to (866)-880-9279, to sign up. Thank you, Ken Helms for the notification information and updating us on the upcoming beautification happening in Monmouth.
