Maple City Street Machines Monitoring Forecast Ahead of Monmouth Cruise Night

Over 30,000 spectators and 3,500 cars are anticipated to fill the streets during the 26th Maple City Street Machines Monmouth Cruise Night tomorrow, Friday, July 31st. Looking at the forecast, the National Weather Service is predicting showers and thunderstorms with new rainfall amounts between one and two inches possible. Club President Clifford Adams shares the current plan in place and the potential of rescheduling the Cruise Night in Monmouth:

“We are going to have a phone meeting with the Car Club members, and we are going to hold a vote on whether to proceed with the Car Cruise or not. My big fear if we have the car cruise on Friday and the storm comes, the threat of thunderstorms and somebody getting struck by lightning. We don’t want to see anyone getting hurt. We don’t want the public in danger. Of course, if we get bad weather, that is going to deter people from coming to the Car Cruise. We will have a vote on it if we want to proceed with the Car Cruise on the 31st, if not, when can we reschedule because most people will still want to come to the Car Cruise.”

The 26th Maple City Street Machines Monmouth Cruise Night is currently scheduled for Friday, July 31st from 4 to 8 pm, weather permitting.
