Are you an old house owner or curious about the history that is stored in the houses, in the City of Monmouth? Make sure to check out Monmouth Old Homes Association Facebook page. This association has been active for the past year, and it has bloomed greatly. Barbara Clark and Joel Baird discuss more about what’s to come.
“We’ve done an East Broadway walking tour, and it’s online. Best thing to do is probably go to our website or go to our Facebook page, and you can find a link there. But you can, on your phone, can stroll the whole entire East Broadway, and look all houses, I think there’s 73 houses on there, and some of the houses aren’t there anymore. The plan is to eventually put some plaques up in front of some of those houses that have members, especially who agreed to that, and then people can use the QR code. People can do it any time, you can do it in your car actually, and then the information comes over your phone. It’s really a fun thing. Some of it will be the history of the house, when it was built, the architectural style, and then maybe, who the current owners are.”
