The Prairie Players Civic Theatre will be hosting auditions for their upcoming production of ‘A Night of One Acts,’ perfect for first-time theatre performers or veteran participants. Playwright-Director Charlie Vestal shares the details of the upcoming audition dates:

“We are encouraging people to come out and audition for our ‘Night of One Acts’ at Prairie Players Civic Theatre. This will be an evening of short plays presented on Saturday, September 19th. The auditions for actors will be held on Sunday, August 16th and Monday, August 17th, followed by a four-week rehearsal period leading up to the performance,” explains Vestal.

“The whole reason that we do the ‘Night of One Acts’ is so that it can be an accessible entry point for those who are curious about theatre but also providing a welcoming path for veteran participants. This also has a shorter rehearsal process and simplified production elements. The format really allows for us to get creative, but it is a lesser time commitment than our main stage productions,” Vestal adds.

Two shows will be staged during ‘A Night of One Acts,’ including Wishing Well, written and directed by Vestal, and The Monkey’s Paw, directed by Adam Chasteen.
