On Thursday, September 17th, Illinois State Representative Dan Swanson and McDonough District Hospital are sponsoring a Veteran and Senior Fair at the Spoon River College Outreach Center in Macomb, located at 2500 East Jackson Street. According to Representative Swanson, the event is open to everyone as multiple vendors will be on-site:

“It is not only about the veterans and seniors, but it is about those people who care for veterans and seniors. Understanding what benefits are available and what resources locally can be reached out to and help with a loved one. We are already up to 36 vendors and I would expect to reach beyond 50,” says Swanson.

“Not only are their state vendors, but we have federal organizations that will be there. The Quincy Veterans Cemetery, there will also be representatives there from the Federal VA, and then state agencies too. The Secretary of State, the local Illinois Department of VA, Illinois Joining Forces, which is a huge networking of groups and organizations. Also, the Illinois State Treasurer is usually there to help you find your money that has been lost and then the Illinois Lyme Association. Many local agencies too and of course McDonough District Hospital,” Swanson adds.

The Veteran and Senior Fair will take place from 9 am to noon and is free and open to the public.
