Traffic violations and theft arrests were among the numbers reported during the month of July with the Monmouth Police Department, according to Chief Joe Switzer:
“For the month of July, we made 52 arrests, issued 127 ordinance violations, calls that came into the dispatch center was 4,015, the Monmouth Police Department handled 1,241 calls, the dispatch center dispatched out 2,414 calls, we handled 8 accidents, and the officers worked 18 grant hours. Those numbers do fluctuate from month to month,” states Chief Switzer.
“Violations issued were mostly traffic related; seatbelt, cellphone usage, speeding, accidents, and sign regulations that deal with signs and stop lights. For arrests, thefts, domestic violence, sexual assault, batteries, it kind of runs the gamete of everything we normally deal with,” Chief Switzer adds.
Meanwhile, Chief Switzer informs two individuals have been hired to join the Monmouth Police Department, Norm Oath and Tyler Fitch.
