Prior to the expansion of the Downtown Monmouth Streetscape Beautification into the 200 Blocks of North and South Main Street, underground work needs to be completed, explains Public Works Director Brayden Bledsoe:

“We expect the construction for the actual roadway to start sometime next year. That being said, we have underground work we need to complete beforehand. On South Main, we have some storm and combined sewer lines that has to be completed. We are hoping to do that here soon. We already have the contractor picked out from when we went to bid. Advanced Plumbing and Hoerr Construction ended up being the low bidders, so they are going to work together to finish that work for us,” says Bledsoe.

“On North Main, we need to get the water main replaced on the 200 Block before we complete the streetscape. That project we are actually going to go to bid soon. We are hoping to see that sometime this fall or winter,” Bledsoe adds.
