The Abingdon-Avon Tornadoes continue to put together a strong 2026 season, improving to 4-1 after a dominant 40-0 win over United last Friday night.
A-Town controlled the game from the start, getting another strong performance from their defense. The Tornadoes recorded six sacks and kept the Red Storm offense in check throughout the night, while the A-Town rushing attack continued to have success on the other side of the ball.
The win also moves the Tornadoes to 1-0 in division play as they head into the second half of the regular season in a good spot.
Now A-Town returns home for Homecoming to take on the LVC Miners. LVC enters Friday night at 0-5, but Head Coach Rick Quinn says the opponent doesn’t change what his team needs to accomplish.
“I think we just have to stay focused on what our goals are, and our goals are to win conference, find a way to get a home playoff game, and this is just another step in that. The team we play doesn’t matter. We have a 48 minute game Friday night, whoever we’re playing the goals stay the same. We’re trying to go 1-0 each week. We’re trying to get better each week so that we can get ourselves in the best position for the playoffs.”
A-Town will host the LVC Miners Friday night for Homecoming, with kickoff scheduled for 7 PM.
