The Monmouth-Roseville Education Foundation continues their highlight of this year’s Hall of Achievement inductees with Dr. Bradley Hennenfent, a 1976 graduate of Roseville High School.
He obtained degrees from Northwestern University and University of Illinois Medical School. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois Affiliated Hospitals Emergency Medicine Residency Program. From his graduation, until about 1992/93, Dr. Brad worked as an ER doctor at several hospitals in the Chicago area. He served as the director of 13 Emergency departments and Urgent Care Centers overseeing 60,000 patients per year. During his medical career, Dr. Brad delivered over 45 lectures at various hospitals in the Chicago metropolitan area on topics such as cervical spine injuries, cardiac life support, and advanced trauma life support. He helped organize the “World’s Largest Hospital Party” to raise money for charity.
In 1989 he was hit head on by a drunk driver and developed health issues which then led to the end of his medical career. Even though he was no longer practicing medicine, Dr. Brad and his father, Michael, for several years, ran the Prostatitis Foundation – a not-for-profit that raised money for research and provided information to men who suffer from prostatitis. He wrote a monograph entitled The Prostatitis Syndromes. It was sold and the proceeds donated to the foundation. His father testified before Congress to lobby for more funding for research relating to diseases of the prostate.
Dr. Brad was published in numerous medical journals. He wrote the book, “Surviving Prostate Cancer without Surgery” and the book “Uncles and Etymology” to teach children to love science, unusual words and reading. He attended both Roseville Elementary and Junior High, and along with his brother George, has connections to both the Monmouth and Roseville school districts. Family meant a lot to him. He was a great son, brother, and uncle.
Bradley Hennenfent passed away at his home in Florida on April 5, 2025. Please join us for the Hall of Achievement Induction Ceremony on Saturday, October 17 as we honor Dr. Brad with this award posthumously.
