Since Freedom Ride Animal Rescue launched in July of 2022, over 700 animals have been transported out of dangerous situations and over 1,100 pets have been microchipped at their free clinics. Founder Phil Cooper shares how proceeds from various fundraisers help support their mission:
“As you know, we are a rescue without walls. We are in a unique position because we fill a niche if you will, we basically transport animals form dangerous situations and high kill scenarios to safety of no-kill shelters. We can really direct any funds that we receive right into what we basically do and that is put fuel in the tank and we have overhead insurance and a few other things like that as well. So, really everything that we raise, goes straight to help the animals.”
On Saturday, October 31st, Freedom Ride Animal Rescue is hosting their 3rd Annual 5K & 1 Mile Walk and Wag, beginning at 9 am from the First Christian Church in Monmouth, 514 North Sunny Lane.
