Mr. Thomas L. “Chopper” Wunderlich, 83, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.

He was born March 7, 1940, in Clinton, Illinois, the son of Joseph and Leona (Webb) Wunderlich. He married Patricia Pickrel.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wunderlich of Galesburg; a daughter, Lori (Richard) Youngquist of Galesburg; a son, Michael (Heather) Wunderlich of Bradenton, Florida; two grandchildren, Jordan (Hilary) Sadiq of Mesa, Arizona and Taylor Wunderlich of Bradenton; and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joey, Jack, Greta, and Susie.

Chopper graduated from Galesburg High School in 1957. He went on to work as a diesel mechanic for 50 years, before retiring in 2010. Tom was known to be able to fix anything. He enjoyed meeting his friends at “The Boat Shop”, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.

As Tom requested, cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers or donations, in Tom’s memory, he asked that you simply tell your family that you love them.
