Mrs. Natalie J. Wright, 95, of Abingdon, Illinois died 2:48 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the Woodridge Supportive Living Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born March 10, 1929, in Bushnell, Illinois to Dilver D. and Leona M. (Watt) Smith.  She married G. Duane “Dewey” Wright on June 6, 1947, in Bushnell, Illinois.  He preceded her in death on September 2, 2008. 

Surviving are her children, Carol L. Holliday of Abingdon, Joyce (and Tony) Dawson of Avon, Illinois, and John (and Janet) Wright of Abingdon, a daughter-in-law, Jackie Wright of Abingdon, five grandchildren, Heather (and David) Hess, Heidi (and John) Rhea, Hope (and Allen) Sanders, Corey (and Dawn) Dawson, and Michelle Holliday, three great grandchildren, Spencer Dawson, Shane (and Sydney) Coleman, and Sam (and Georgina) Holliday, and one great-great granddaughter, Wrenley Coleman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David D. Wright, a son-in-law, Mike Holliday, two brothers, and a sister. 

Natalie attended Bushnell Schools.  She worked in the cafeteria for the Abingdon School District #217 for 21 years and retired in 1990.  She was an active member of the Abingdon Christian Church where she taught Sunday School, cooked for funeral luncheons, and was very active with the church Chicken Pie Supper.  She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #0381 and the Grandmother Club. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Abingdon Christian Church.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Linda Mowrer officiating.  A Private family burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Abingdon Christian Church.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com
